Buyurr ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Data We Collect
Account Data: When you register, we collect your name and email address.
Pantry & Shopping Data: Items you add to your pantry, shopping list, and household. This data is private to your household.
Community Content: Recipes you post publicly are visible to all Buyurr users.
Usage Data: Anonymized analytics about how the app is used (screens viewed, features used). We do not track individual behavior in detail.
Device Data: Device type, OS version, and app version for crash reporting and compatibility.
2. How We Use Your Data
- To provide and improve the Buyurr service
- To sync your data across household members' devices
- To send transactional emails (account verification, password reset)
- To process subscription payments (via App Store / Google Play — we do not store card details)
- To respond to support requests
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.
3. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on secure servers hosted in the EU. We use industry-standard encryption (TLS) for all data in transit. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.
Access to your household's data is protected by Row Level Security — only household members can view household data.
4. Household Data Sharing
When you join a household, you can see all pantry items, shopping list, and activity log of that household. The household owner can see all member names. Household data is never shared outside the household (except community recipes you explicitly post).
5. Third-Party Services
- RevenueCat: Manages in-app subscriptions. They receive your user ID and subscription status. RevenueCat Privacy Policy
- Apple App Store / Google Play: Processes payments. Subject to their respective privacy policies.
- Supabase: Backend database and authentication. Data stored in EU. Supabase Privacy Policy
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days.
7. Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are based in the EU/EEA, you have the following rights:
- Access: Request a copy of your personal data
- Rectification: Correct inaccurate data
- Erasure: Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Portability: Export your data (via Settings → Export Pantry Data)
- Objection: Object to processing of your data

8. Children's Privacy
Buyurr is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If we discover such data has been collected, we will delete it immediately.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when the policy was last revised.
